Story: When the time comes, we depart

It is the occurrence of an evening
when my friend and I intended to hang out at seaside. So, as usual, we left for
a jaunt and as we moved forward, we saw a crowd of many children and they were
vociferating along the way. We approached them and asked what the commotion was
as we were passing by.
They replied as they were passing by a kid of goat
suddenly fell down when they rushed toward him, witnessed he was writhing
pitiably as his face became withered and pale. He was about to die as his eyes
were open but could not move as if he was deceased, lying on the ground.
My friends and I could not
bear to watch the scene. We thought of a plan that; we would bring a bucket of
water and pour it on him. We hoped this would make him vigorous and healthy
again. however, this plan and all the efforts which we attempted were futile, eventually becoming despondent that we could not aid the innocent animal.
As I heard the children’s
heartrending words, I became dejected and was excessively preoccupied that if men
were not foes, and if brothers were not thirsty and greedy for each other’s
blood and wealth, and all the people were living with peace and harmony, and a
simple life. If this was the case, so no such incidents would take place but
alas! Here, the situation is utterly contradictory of it.
Yes, people said well as a
matter of fact, humanity is missing in us, the glim of humanity, has
extinguished within us, therefore, compassion, kindness, esteem, loyalty,
honesty, faithfulness, love and so on, of human being characteristics are also
missing in us. The day we rehabilitate ourselves, the day we will be
magnificently exalted.
Anyhow, we proceeded and reached seaside and enjoyed
rambling for about half an hour, sitting on a rock to rest for a while before
returning home, we saw a man who was dragging a goat with rope and hurriedly
moving toward the shore. It was that unsound goat which I had seen earlier on
the way. I once again, became sad to see all of this. Despite of all the
possibly made efforts, we could not save goat’s life and he breathed his last perpetually.
If we could have taken him to
the hospital promptly, he could have regained his vitality and been saved but
what if the appointed time had come? the soul had been ordered for departure?
then what? Who? Will stop it! Nothing! Indeed nothing! No one! Indeed No one would
stop it! Every physician is crippled at this time, and no ointment works
therefore, when the time comes, we depart.
